I have been wanting to explain a bit why we would want to consider taking our family to Uganda. In our video we mentioned that we feel like this is where God is leading us, but why follow? This morning I read Ephesians 2 and wanted to share a portion of that here. If you have never read the book of Ephesians in the Bible, I would highly recommend it. Here is Ephesians 2:4-10 -
" 4But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
We have been loved and forgiven much by the God of the universe. He has shown us his love in sending his own Son, Jesus, to bring us into his family. We want to live out that love in the lives of those around us, wherever He calls us to live. We feel like serving in Uganda may be part of the work that He prepared beforehand for us to do. And we want to walk in it.

  2. hi David and Lisa,
it has been a long time! I recall with much fondness our little Bible study group that met at the Greens house, not to mention LWC! it is so good to see the Lord working in and through you, not least your growing family. our 4 kids match up rather similarly with yours, by the way.

we recently felt a similar calling, but in a much different place. so last year we moved from St. Elmo up to Portland, Maine for church-planting training. sometimes it is not easy to follow the Lord's call, but He is with us, and there is much joy in Him.

I'll be subscribing to the blog and praying as I see updates. may the Lord clearly lead you as you lean on Him.
